Riot Reset — Participant Waiver

RR-WAIVER-PACK-V1.4 · Riot Reset, Doire/Derry · Governed by the law of Northern Ireland

Please read this to the end. By accepting it you confirm you understand the risks and take part voluntarily. This form relates only to the named participant. Each adult signs for themselves. For an under-18 participant, the signer confirms they are the parent or legal guardian and will ensure the required adult supervision. This does not waive a child’s legal rights.

1. The activity is dangerous

Riot Reset involves striking, smashing and throwing objects, sharp and heavy implements and flying debris. Even with safety measures there is a real risk of injury — cuts, bruising, eye injury, strains, fractures or, rarely, more serious harm.

2. Specific risks by unit

Smash & Splat units: flying glass and debris, ricochet, cuts, eye injury, slips on wet/painted surfaces, UV/low lighting affecting visibility. AXE+: sharp blades, impact and ricochet, and injury from incorrect handling or moving downrange.

3. Safety rules & PPE

  1. Wear all PPE issued (visor, goggles, gloves, coveralls, overshoes, ear defenders, hard hat where instructed) for the whole session.
  2. Follow all staff instructions. Staff may pause, refuse or end a session for intoxication, aggression or refusing the rules. Any refund is considered under the booking terms and applicable law.
  3. Use only equipment you've been issued and briefed on, in its zone, as demonstrated. Never aim or swing toward another person. Stop on "RESET" or "STOP".
  4. No participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

4. What you're agreeing to

You take part voluntarily and accept the inherent risks of these activities. Before taking part, the participant or their parent/legal guardian must discuss any safety concerns or adjustments privately with staff.

Accepting the inherent risks means you cannot hold us responsible for injury resulting purely from those inherent risks where we have met our duty of care.

5. What this does NOT do

Nothing here removes any right that cannot be removed by law. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. This is about accepting the inherent risk of a dangerous activity — it is not a promise not to sue us if we are at fault.

6. Your own conduct

If you ignore the rules, misuse equipment or remove PPE, your session may be paused or ended on safety grounds. Any responsibility for loss and any refund are determined under the booking terms and applicable law. Your statutory rights remain protected.

7. CCTV

CCTV operates throughout the facility for safety, security and incident investigation. Ask staff about camera coverage and privacy arrangements before participation. Footage is stored securely and shared only where lawful (e.g. with HSENI, our insurers, or the police). Submitting this form does not give permission to use photos or video for marketing.

8. Electronic signature

Submitting this form with your details is your electronic signature and has the same effect as signing on paper. We record the date and time of your acceptance and the version of this waiver.

9. General

If any part of this waiver is found invalid, the rest still applies. This waiver is governed by the law of Northern Ireland.
